WHAT is Columns?

The Columns Program combines BJJ martial arts with a refined academic curriculum in small, mixed age classes. Students spend their first third of the day in physical training and the remainder pursuing academics provided by our community's best curriculums and teachers. Students also thrive in an outdoor science curriculum weekly.

IMMERSIVE

Immersed in what, exactly? Mostly wonder...

  • ... and competence, and challenge.

  • No busy work! Students will be fully immersed in what they are learning as a means to develop highest potential competencies in their studies.

  • Topics will intersect through the subjects. For example, Math class with intersect with real life accounting projects and science projects

  • Homework is essential

  • All work is shared with the home for families to follow along and contribute

ADAPTIVE

... no limitations

  • Students will be studying at their personal level of ability with every subject

  • Students will be constantly challenged to pursue higher level work - in studies, in arts, in sport (ie. BJJ)

  • Families will have the ability to select their student's  learning plan. Can opt out of courses that student isn't committed to or intensively layer courses of deep interests (ie. arts, sports, math)

  • Reading program is not optional as it is essential for self-learning potential across ALL subjects
